Some Things Are Worth It

This Bible study explores the profound reality that some things in life are simply worth it—even suffering. Opening with a powerful illustration from the life and death of William Wallace, it introduces the theme of sacrifice for a greater cause. Just as Wallace endured pain and death for the freedom of his people, the Apostle Paul rejoiced in his sufferings for the sake of the gospel and the church. Focusing on Colossians 1:24–29, this study dives deep into Paul's claim that he found joy in suffering because he lived with a divine purpose. Paul wasn't rejoicing because suffering was easy or pleasant, but because it was meaningful—an extension of Christ’s mission and a contribution to the spread of the gospel. His willingness to suffer demonstrates the truth that living for God's purpose can lead to a life infused with enduring, transcendent joy.
