When Salvation Comes

Jun 18, 2023    Pastor Matt Keller

In the book of Esther, we find a remarkable story of God's providence and deliverance. The Jewish people faced a grave threat of annihilation, as Haman's evil plot to destroy them was set in motion. However, through the courage and faithfulness of Esther, the tide began to turn. In Esther 8:1-17, we witness the moment when salvation comes to God's chosen people.

In this powerful passage, we see Esther's plea to King Ahasuerus to revoke the decree that sanctioned the destruction of the Jews. Esther, with wisdom and humility, reveals the wicked plot and appeals for justice. The king, moved by Esther's words and the revelation of Haman's true intentions, grants her request. With the king's decree, the Jews are given the right to defend themselves against their enemies.

This pivotal moment in the story of Esther holds profound spiritual significance for us today. It serves as a reminder that God's salvation comes at the appointed time, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges. The events of Esther's life and the deliverance of her people foreshadow the ultimate salvation found in Jesus Christ.

Through this sermon, we will explore the themes of faith, courage, and divine intervention. We will draw lessons from Esther's journey and reflect on the parallels between her story and our own lives. Just as Esther found herself in a position to intercede for her people, we too have a role to play in God's redemptive plan for the world.

"When Salvation Comes" is an invitation for us to examine our own lives and consider the ways in which God is working behind the scenes, orchestrating events for our deliverance. It encourages us to trust in God's timing and sovereignty, even when circumstances appear bleak. We will be reminded that salvation is not a one-time event but an ongoing process, and that God's faithfulness endures through every trial.

Join us as we delve into the story of Esther, drawing inspiration from her faith and courage. Together, we will discover the hope and assurance that come when salvation arrives, and we will be challenged to live boldly for God's purposes in our own lives.
